Mazdakism is a religious and philosophical set of teachings within Zoroastrianism, whose chief representative was the prophet Mazdak. He claimed his version of Zoroastrianism to be purer and more refined than the mainstream. He claimed to be a prophet of Ahura Mazda, and instituted communal possessions and social welfare programs.

Basics[]

Mazdak was a Zoroastrian priest who claimed to be a prophet of Ahura Mazda. He attempted to reform the religion with Gnostic elements, and advocated communal possessions and welfare programs. His teachings fell out of favour with the Shahanshah Kavdah I in 524, but pockets of the heresy survived in remote areas. This heresy has no formal head and no special game mechanics.

Mazdakism is a heresy of Zoroastrianism.
